About Kimberly Burns, Bradenton Support Group Leader

Kim is an occupational therapist with a specialty in lymphatic system and yoga. Being in the healthcare field over 20 years has provided her with extensive knowledge on a variety of disease processes with varied age populations. Initially diagnosed with osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, and a host of other ailments, Kim was able to ask for correct testing based on family history and was found to be HLA-B27 positive. Kim incorporates daily management of self-care techniques, using food, stretching and other lifestyle changes, to treat her disease.

Starting a spondylitis support group can be a fulfilling and rewarding challenge. The knowledgeable volunteers who lead SAA-Sponsored Spondylitis Educational Support Groups play a vital role by providing a forum for those with spondylitis to connect and offer support.
