Kathy Lange has a Master’s Degree in Special Education and lives in Rolling Meadows, with her husband Ric of 8 years. She was finally diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis in 2005, after suffering with some symptoms from childhood. She taught High School Behavior Disorder students for 18 years and had to go onto disability because of AS in 2010. Since going on Disability, she has spent time researching AS and has time during the day to answer questions.
Gail Wright is a teacher of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. She's been teaching in a variety of settings for 27 years. Gail was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis in January of 2014. She enjoys exercising, hiking, being outdoors - especially in the mountains, gardening and being with great friends. She has an amazing, supportive husband and two great kids.
Starting a spondylitis support group can be a fulfilling and rewarding challenge. The knowledgeable volunteers who lead SAA-Sponsored Spondylitis Educational Support Groups play a vital role by providing a forum for those with spondylitis to connect and offer support.
