My name is Randall Sapadin. I am a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. I have a wealth of experience in the areas of cooking, management, financial planning and banking. While I feel blessed in many ways, I am saddened by the large number of family members who have been inflicted with crippling diseases. I lost my father's identical twin brother, a cousin and a close friend to ALS. My younger sister is currently suffering from the advanced stages of ALS.
I chose to deviate from private enterprise in 2011 after my daughter was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis and decided to dedicate my life to helping families suffering from crippling diseases. I founded a non-profit organization called the Maria Coppola Foundation named in honor of my daughter. Our organization prepares meals for persons inflicted with crippling diseases and their families.
I was honored to join the Board of Directors of the Spondylitis Association of America where I serve on the Developmental and Finance Committees. I have also visited First Responders on behalf of SAA and presented them with educational materials for proper handling of persons with Ankylosing Spondylitis in a crisis.
I stay abreast of breakthroughs in medical research which I believe will put many crippling diseases in the proverbial rear view mirror.
When I'm not working I enjoy playing bridge, reading, and spending time with my family.
Starting a spondylitis support group can be a fulfilling and rewarding challenge. The knowledgeable volunteers who lead SAA-Sponsored Spondylitis Educational Support Groups play a vital role by providing a forum for those with spondylitis to connect and offer support. Interested in taking on this role?
