Mike is a native Californian who grew up surfing in San Diego. However, when his initial A.S. symptoms developed during high school, it forced him to change interests and refocus on racing and cars. Mike graduated Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, and became an Ophthalmologist, establishing his own practice. His principal activity, other than work, revolved around sports cars and time trialing. Mike is an authority on both Porsche and Ferrari history and has owned examples from both manufacturers.
