A recent study suggests that spondylitis of inflammatory bowel disease, or Crohn’s disease, is linked to the use of antibiotics. In a recent study, researches found that patients with Crohn’s received twice as many prescriptions over a five-year period and were 30% more likely to have been prescribed antibiotics.
It is not clear, however, if antibiotic use is a disease trigger or the result of patients seeking to relieve symptoms of the disease.
