We Welcome SAA's New Executive Director, Katherine Culpepper

7/24/06

The Board of Directors of the Spondyilitis Association of America is pleased to announce that Katherine Culpepper has been named as our new Executive Director and began on July 10. Katherine comes to SAA after a lengthy career in non-profit management and brings management, fundraising, and public relations experience that will be invaluable to SAA as we continue to advocate for patients, provide greater public awareness of spondyloarthritis, and seek funds to accomplish our mission.

We are fortunate to have found a new Executive Director for SAA with the experience and compassion to take the organization to new heights. Katherine does not have AS, but understands the burden of chronic disease from her past experience as CEO of the Starlight Children's Foundation, an international organization dedicated to making life easier for chronically ill children. Katherine will draw from twenty years of experience encompassing all aspects of the non-profit sector including program delivery, organizational development, fiscal oversight, fund development and community awareness.

Says Katherine, "I am absolutely thrilled to be here and to be working with such a great team. I know we will continue to move forward in achieving SAA's mission."
