The Federal Drug Administration (FDA) has reviewed and has started making policy changes regarding drug risks, regulation and research over the last couple years. Much of this has come in the wake of the Vioxx safety issues.

A video interview conducted by Jill Wechsler, Washington Bureau Chief of the Advanstar Pharmaceutical and Science Group, of Dr. Steven Galson, the Director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) at the FDA, delves into many of the changes.

Dr. Galson highlights many new procedures in communication, drug safety and regulation concerns that the FDA is currently dealing with.
