Are swimming or aerobic exercise better than conventional exercise in ankylosing spondylitis patients? A randomized controlled study

"Swimming, walking and conventional exercise (CE) had beneficial effects on the quality of life and pulmonary functions. Aerobic exercises such as swimming and walking in addition to CE increased functional capacities of patients."

In a study posted on the Minerva Medica site, researches look at the various benefit levels of different forms of exercise in anklosing spondylitis patients.

They found that all three have benefits and that adding swimming or aerobic exercise to a conventional exercise plan, patients faired slightly better.
