Postural stability in ankylosing spondylitis

Posted on: 5/10/10

A study posted on the informahealthcare.com website examines if postural stability is affected by the changes in posture caused by ankylosing spondylitis.

The authors conclude that "We have found that postural stability decreases in patients with AS in both the early and the late stages of the disease, but especially in the latter ones." And that, "This result may be thought to be related with increased kyphosis which is seen during the course of the disease."
