ADVOCACY ALERT: Spondylitis research funding is in jeopardy!

Posted on: 2/22/2011

Congress is moving to finalize funding levels for fiscal year (FY) 2011 and there are proposed cuts to the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This could severely impact the continuing progress of research into spondylitis and other forms of arthritis.

Your voice needs to be heard. Congress needs to know that cuts in arthritis research funding do more harm than good. Consider using the following points when contacting your representative:

  • I'm a constituent that cares about arthritis research - it is a disabling disease that costs our country $128 billion annually.
  • Cuts to research and prevention funding do more harm than good.
  • Cuts in research will limit our ability to discover a cure.
  • As your constituent, I ask that you please preserve the federal investment in research and prevention.
