Spondylitis Awareness Month is in full swing and we wanted to highlight a few awareness events that are coming up this week! The following are all planned by SAA members for this Saturday, April 28th in different parts of the country.
The mother-daughter team of Shawna Snider-Connelly & Tina Lundquist from Fremont, IN have planned the "Cure Ankylosing Spondylitis Walk" to take place in Angola, IN. For more information and to get involved, please visit the walk's page here. You can read Shawna's story about her life with spondylitis here.
Joe Eder from Shakopee, MN is running a 10k race for spondylitis awareness in Minneapolis, MN. Joe is raising funds for SAA, as well as raising awareness during the race by including SAA's logo on his running outfit - along with a catchy phrase to grab attention!
Please visit his Crowdrise page for more information.
And finally, William & Michelle Thies from Caldwell, ID are participating in their local Arthritis Walk to raise spondylitis awareness in honor of their son, Zach Thies, who was diagnosed with AS two years ago. The Thies family also participated in a walk in honor of Zach last year, and you can read our story on that walk here - http://www.spondylitis.org/press/news/488.aspx.
And we hope that by now you know about SAA's 2012 Spondylitis Awareness Project!
We are sending our News Magazine, Spondylitis Plus, to doctors' offices across the US, and raising spondylitis awareness in the medical community. Get involved and tell a doctor and their staff "They should know MORE about Spondylitis!" If you haven't yet, please Join our Cause today and spread the word.
