Axial Spondyloarthritis Physician Fellowship Opportunity

The following is an announcement from SAA regarding a physician fellowship opportunity offered by a third party. SAA is not affiliated with the institution, and is sharing the opportunity as a service to our community.  

The Spondylitis Program at Canada's largest research hospital, University Health Network, is offering a one-year fellowship in Axial Spondyloarthritis (AS), under the supervision of co-Directors Drs. Nigil Haroon and Robert Inman.


The AS Fellow takes an active role in the AS clinic with a broad exposure to the spectrum of Spondyloarthritis (SpA), gaining first-hand experience in the management of these patients. This will include training in the interpretation of X-ray and MRI of AS. The AS Fellow will engage in clinically relevant research in the AS cohort, which can range from clinical and epidemiological studies to translational studies in immunology and genetics of AS.


Eligibility

The candidate should have:

  1. Completed rheumatology and internal medicine training and be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or USA Board equivalent
  2. Eligibility for educational licensing by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
  3. Excellent communication skills in English.

The proposed dates of the fellowship are July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021.
